POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst who will analyze business problems, perform technical writing, make recommendations, plan & monitor the sprints, assist in reporting & facilitate collaboration within cross-functional teams, with expertise in Jira, Extensive Documentation, Agile/Scrum, Postman, Balsamiq, GitHub, & Adobe Products/UI/UX principles along with a firm foundation developing web applications.

This exceptional individual will coordinate & collaborate with cross functional teams to assure success of the department. The role will participate in the development of novel software & digital assets, via SDLC & Agile/Scrum with the entire department of Product, Engineering, Architecture, Compliance, Quality & Configuration.

Responsibilities, Expectations & Qualifications:

Architecture:

  • Collaborate with product owners & business leaders to comprehend their requirements translate these into detailed feature scope & sprint plans for the development team.
  • Develop comprehensive product documentation, including requirement statements, logical data models, process designs, user interface mock-ups, & use cases.
  • Participates in evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, & internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, & applicability for use within existing systems & information architecture.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices & other tech products.
  • Practical exposure to system design, application development, testing & operational stability, using different mocking solutions to perform Front/Back-end testing in isolation.

Maintenance:

  • Lead & contribute to design sessions, enhancing the overall user experience & functionality of new & existing products.
  • Foster strong relationships with scrum team & stakeholders, positioning the company to address & anticipate the changing demands of the insurance landscape.
  • Triage end user bugs. Identify, document thoroughly & track bugs.
  • Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications & systems.
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to diagnose & resolve basic technical issues.

Agile/Scrum:

  • Participate in the SCRUM process & UX design sessions. Collaborates with the scrum team, including Product Owners, Product Analysts, DevManagers, other Business
  • Analysts, Front/Back-end Engineers, QA Engineers, UI/UX Specialists & others, to design & implement all facets of application development, e.g. UI, APIs, Features, Hotfixes, etc.
  • Efficiently manage & prioritize tasks to adhere to project deadlines & milestones.
  • Define & manage project scope, ensuring that design requirements & technical specifications are met within set timelines.
  • Spearhead product development initiatives, coordinating with both internal teams & external technology partners to drive product evolution & integration.
  • Bonus: Familiarity with modern Front/Back-end technologies, JS frameworks, solid understanding of Agile methodologies such as CI/CD, application resiliency & security.
  • Coordinate with the Quality Assurance team to actively support testing efforts & address any design flaws to enhance product usability.
  • Problem-solving attitude.

Development:

  • Engage with internal & external stakeholders to meticulously document business needs, create detailed scope documents, & ensure alignment with technical specifications.
  • Sense of urgency.
  • Generate & validate use cases, as well as review test cases to guarantee sufficient testing coverage & adherence to requirements.
  • Provide exceptional implementation, training, & ongoing support to internal department leaders.
  • Produce & maintain product documentation, including specifications & user guides, ensuring all materials meet the standards for internal or external dissemination.
  • Stay up-to-date with new development & testing technologies.
  • Bonus: Experience in debugging code/patterns in an enterprise environment with one or more modern programming languages & database querying languages.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts & applied experience

  1. (2) years of professional Agile/Scrum analysis of software development concerning web applications, including team collaboration & code repositories (GitHub, SVN, Bitbucket,etc).
  2. (1) years of programming exposure with one or more software programming language experience, preferably React.js, React Native, SQL, MongoDB, Firebase
  3. (2) years of active team engagement in design or architecture (design patterns, reliability, & scaling) of new & existing systems experience using hosting services (AWS).
  4. Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.
  5. (2)years of exposure to full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, unit & integration testing, & operations experience.
  6. (2) years of experience in product management, project management, software development, quality assurance, technical writing, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated expertise in requirement design & analysis.
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality work within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Exceptional analytical & problem-solving skills, with a strong emphasis on follow-through & attention to detail.
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities independently & with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite/G-Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) & familiar with Agile development methodologies & tools.
  • Strong interpersonal & communication skills, with experience in collaborating with diverse teams.

Note: The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range & represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity & location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials & experience of the candidate; & other conditions of employment.
