POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer that will manually test SDLC assets & platform based software for a growing & positive AppDev Team. This exceptional individual will coordinate and collaborate with cross functional teams to assure the successful documentation, bug tracking, manual testing & final sign off production assets. The role will participate in the development of novel software & digital assets, via SDLC & Agile/Scrum with the entire department of Product, Engineering, Architecture, Compliance, Quality & Configuration.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

The ideal candidate will have expertise in the following concepts & technologies:

  • Manual testing of novel software: desktop, mobile & native.
  • Regression testing & smoke testing; Load/throttle testing.
  • Jira, Agile/Scrum, Postman, Swagger.
  • API Testing, DB queries, Back-end testing.
  • Front-end UI/UX & Dev Tools.
  • SDLC, Software Change Management.

KNOWLEDGE BASE: 

A mastery of documentation skills is a primary requirement for every role in the Application Development Department:

  • Requirements traceability matrix.
  • Documenting APIs in Swagger.
  • Documenting integrations.
  • Documenting functionality.
  • Documenting features built.
  • Writing test cases daily & test plans.

 RESPONSIBILITIES & SKILL SET

Testing:

  • Identify, record, document thoroughly & track bugs.
  • Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved or merger of microservices for production launch.
  • Excellent problem solving, root cause identification & troubleshooting skills.
  • Can estimate, prioritize, plan & coordinate testing activities.
  • Hands-on experience with both white box & black box testing.
  • Create & execute detailed, comprehensive, well-structured & concise test plans & test cases.
  • Develop & apply testing processes for new & existing products to meet client needs. As well as being capable of reviewing requirements, specifications & technical design documents to provide timely to provide meaningful feedback.
  • Investigate the causes of non-conforming software.
  • Hands-on practical experience in testing & operational stability, using different mocking solutions to perform Front-end testing in isolation.
  • Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities & open defect counts. 

Tools:

  • Stay up-to-date with new testing tools & test strategies.
  • Familiarity with modern Front-end technologies, JS frameworks, solid understanding of Agile methodologies such as CI/CD, application resiliency & security.
  • Exposure to cloud technologies, automation technologies & frameworks & reporting tools.

Agile/Scrum:

  • Liaise with internal teams (e.g. developers & product managers) to identify system requirements.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Formal/OTJ training or certification on software engineering concepts & applied experience.
  • 2+ years of professional software development exposure to web applications, including team collaboration & code repository (GitHub).
  • 2+ years of QA documentation.
  • 2+ years of active engagement in an Agile/Scrum team.
  • 2+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, unit & integration testing, & operations experience.
  • Proven work experience in software quality assurance.
  • Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools & processes.

Note: The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range & represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity & location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials & experience of the candidate; & other conditions of employment.

Compensation:

Base Pay Range: $65,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
