POSITION SUMMARY

 

We are seeking an experienced Dev Manager that will lead an Agile/Scrum team to deliver assets each sprint & serve as traditional manager of resources. This exceptional individual will coordinate and collaborate with cross functional teams to assure the successful launches of stable & compliant technologies that enhance the industry. The role will participate in the development of novel software & digital assets, via SDLC & Agile/Scrum with the entire department of Product, Engineering, Architecture, Compliance, Quality & Configuration.

REQUIREMENTS

High Level Concepts/Technologies with Documentation:

The ideal candidate will have expertise in the following concepts & technologies

  • The ideal candidate will have exposure to React.js, React Native, Next.js, Java, SQL, Firebase, MongoDB, RPA, SDLC, Agile-Scrum/Waterfall Methodologies, QA Manual/Automation, CI/CD, People Management, Change Management/Compliance & Delivering Products, along with a ?rm foundation developing web applications. Standard best practices are expected with personal accountability to test the team’s work, be it manual testing & required unit testing. Agility looks to our development managers to be leaders (foremost), inquisitive, approachable, meticulous & engaging to ensure that our suite of applications, our processes & our strategies are robust & scalable, above all, lightning fast.
  • Candidates should be comfortable leading cross-functional teams to drive impact across the entirety of the software development cycle, including working with other departments to clarify requirements; peer review, reviewing production code written by others; assisting with design for testability, & using data to drive decisions.

A mastery of documentation skills is a primary requirement for every role in the Application 

Development Department:

  • Lastly, a strong foundation of documentation skill is a primary requirement, e.g. sprint plans, technical documentation; documenting APIs in Swagger; documenting integrations; documenting features built, etc.

Responsibilities, Expectations & Qualifications:

Architecture:

  • Identities opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications & systems.
  • Participates in evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, & internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, & applicability for use within existing systems & information architecture.
  • Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness & use of new & leading-edge technologies.
  • Oversee Library growth: designs & tests of reusable components that are responsive & work across  multiple modern browsers, continually improving quality & performance.
  • Familiarity with modern Front/Back-end technologies, JS frameworks, Java, SQL, MongoDB,  Firebase, Java, API’s, RPA, solid understanding of Agile methodologies such as CI/CD, application resiliency & security.
  • Exposure to cloud technologies, automation technologies & frameworks & reporting tools.

Maintenance:

  • Delivery of metrics & status reports to all appropriate parties.
  • Documentation efforts.
  • Capable of steering a scrum team to successfully develop towards denotable assets upon conclusion of each sprint.
  • Lead the quality & stability efforts of the dev team.
  • Reviews requirements & technical documents, understands application features, ensures testing is completed & issues are documented.
  • Triage end user bugs. Identify, document thoroughly & track bugs.
  • Excellent problem solving, root cause identi?cation & troubleshooting skills.
  • A passion for clean code & best practices capable of passing source dependency auditing, with  personal aspirations to mentor & share successes collaboratively.

Agile/Scrum:

  • ***Lead the SCRUM process & UX design sessions. Collaborates with the scrum team, including 
  • Product Owners, Product Analysts, DevManagers, Business Analysts,
  • Back-end Engineers, QA Engineers, UI/UX Specialists & others, to design & implement all facets of  application development, e.g. UI, APIs, Features, Hotfixes, etc.
  • Manage standard sprint ceremony calendar & all milestones, therein.
  • Performs daily standup by validating ticket updates & work-performed daily.
  • Analyze stories from the product team or acceptable reporter for entry into the Sprint.
  • Asist in backlog grooming (per the hand o? of executing owner body) & update Jira stories.
  • ***Manages the utilization & time management of the development team.

Development:

  • Can provide forecasted correspondence.
  • Compliance: abide & enforce the compliance policies & checklists of the team.
  • PM executive decision making.

  • ***Executes creative software solutions, with exposure to ‘Design’ & capable of technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions  or break down technical problems. In other words, find efficient solutions to the right problems.
  • Required to manage secure high-quality production of code & capable of reviewing/debugging code  written by others.
  • Ability to diagnose & resolve basic technical issues.
  • Hands-on practical team experience in system design, application development, testing &  operational stability, using di?erent mocking solutions to perform Front/Back-end testing in  isolation.
  • Experience in developing, debugging, & maintaining code in an enterprise environment with one or more modern programming languages & database querying languages.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Formal/OTJ training or certification on software engineering concepts & applied experience.

  • 4+ years of professional Agile/Scrum team management of software development concerning web  applications, including team collaboration & code repositories (GitHub, SVN, Bitbucket,etc).
  • 1 years of programming experience or equivalent experience with one or more software  programming language experience, preferably React.js, React Native, Java, SQL, MongoDB, Firebase.
  • 2+ years of active team engagement in design or architecture (design patterns, reliability, & scaling) of new & existing systems experience using hosting services (AWS).
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.
  • 4+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, unit  & integration testing, & operations experience.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives & requirements.
  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules & budgets, & track project progress.
  • Identify & mitigate project risks & issues, & proactively address them.
  • Using Jira, manage project resources, including assigning tasks, capital expenditures, tracking  work progress & ensuring e?cient resource allocation.
  • Create, maintain & update calendar for all Engineering Department employees & assess capacity  against the work calendar.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for assigned stakeholders, providing regular project updates  & addressing their concerns.
  • Ensure the project deliverables meet quality standards & client expectations.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations & identify areas for improvement.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices & emerging trends in project management & technology.
  • Effectively produces technical documentation & presentations.
  • Creates timelines, roadmaps & technical diagrams for project management work.
  • Tracks KPIs & other metric focused reports as needed.
  • Familiar with working in agile methodologies, experience working in a sprint structure.
  • Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers.
  • Strong practical understanding of Computer Science fundamentals in data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, & complexity analysis.

Note: The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range & represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity & location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials & experience of the candidate; & other conditions of employment.
